The term “natural solubilizer” is often misleading. Many of these blends are marketed as clean or plant-based—but in reality, they can contain up to six different ingredients, including synthetic chemicals like:

Polysorbate 20 or 80 (commonly used emulsifiers)

PEGs (polyethylene glycols)

Ethoxylated compounds (made using ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen)

Even though some of these ingredients are derived from plants, they are highly processed and chemically altered, stripping them of any natural purity.

What’s more concerning? Polysorbates have been linked to hormone disruption, which is a big no in our clean beauty philosophy.
